Here's what I discovered after watching company after company fail at AI — and what I built instead.

I was learning about how AI works — or doesn't work — at a company level. The research was clear: most AI initiatives initiated by real companies end in failure. Not 20%. Not 40%. Seventy percent. [source: Gartner 2023] [McKinsey State of AI]
It wasn't the tool. The AI itself was great — smart, trained, capable. It was the implementation that failed. Companies expected a SaaS rollout — log in, press a button, get value. Instead they got a mess no one wanted to be responsible for.
AI is a great tool, but it's not the same as SaaS. AI is not and cannot be responsible. So although AI is capable, useful, fast and 'smart,' that doesn't make up for its lack of experience in the real world, its lack of judgment, and its high risk of mistakes.

AI is like a Genie. It holds incredible creative power — it can generate, reason, connect dots across vast datasets, and produce at breakneck speed. But most companies keep it shackled inside a tiny lamp, restricted to a chat window, a copy-paste interface, a SaaS wrapper that treats it like a slightly smarter search bar.
The AI needs structure. It needs rules. It needs guidance. But no matter how optimal your structure is, if you deprive the AI of context and agency, you lock away its true power. You end up with an expensive version of a cheap JavaScript chatbot.
The solution isn't 'more AI' or 'more tools.' It's integrated AI — implemented by an embedded, responsible systems developer guiding both the business and the integration of the AI into business processes.

If an AI solution is to be wildly successful and produce overwhelmingly valuable results, it needs to be an individualized solution executed inside the business codebase at an intimate level. It needs a responsible individual or team that dedicates their full attention to the success of the AI implementation — building the tools, guiding the AI, integrating deeply into the business processes.
This method sets AI to merge with the business at a level so close that it would undermine many businesses to have corporations and mega-companies holding full control over that lever. Or it would be a breach of trust and law.
